Harbour View to tackle W Connection
published: Saturday | December 23, 2006

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):

Jamaica's Harbour View and W Connection, of Trinidad and Tobago, will clash in a semi-final battle of two ex-champions in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship late next month.

Harbour View, who were winners in 2004 and W Connection, the 2002 champions, are slated to meet in the second of the two semi-finals on January 26, most likely in Trinidad and Tobago.

Trinidad and Tobago's San Juan Jabloteh, the 2003 CFU Club champions, will face Haiti's Baltimore Sportif in the other semi-final.

The final will be played on Sunday, January 28, with the winners advancing to a quarter-final spot in the 2007 CONCACAF Champions Cup against Mexico's CD Guadalajara in a home-and-away series on February 20 and 27.

Harbour View advance

Harbour View advanced to the CFU semis by winning over Haiti's Aigle Noir (1-0), the U.S. Virgin Islands' Positive Vibes (5-0) and the Dutch Antilles' SV Centro Social Deportivo Barber (2-0) earlier this month in Group A Kingston.

San Juan Jabloteh dominated Group D in St. Thomas, whipping Antigua's Sap FC (4-0), Aruba's SV Brittania (8-0) and the Virgin Islands' New Vibes (5-0) to reach the last four.

W Connection topped Group C qualifying in Puerto Rico with wins over Antigua's Hoppers FC (5-0) and Puerto Rico Islanders (1-0), and Baltimore Sportif upset Jamaica's Waterhouse (2-0) and won 4-0 over UNDEBA, of the Netherlands Antilles, to win Group B in Kingston.
