Cool music, fine fellowship
published: Sunday | December 24, 2006

Wonder whether they're getting a signal? The talk is all about cellphones for (from left) Marcia Smith-Mair, Garth Hinchcliffe, Annaliese Lindsay and Neville Arnold at the Manpower and Maintenance Services annual Christmas luncheon, at 1Eureka Road in Kingston, on Thursday, December 21. - Photo by Rudolph Brown/Chief Photographer

Amid the hustle of a typical December afternoon in the corporate area, the staff of Manpower and Maintenance Services were enjoying cool music and fine fellowship.

The company's Christmas luncheon, held on Thursday, was the perfect way for some of the hard-working staff, who don't usually make the headlines, to just chill out, if only for a few hours.

The cosy gathering in the company's auditorium at 1A Eureka Road, Cross Roads, was the perfect escape from the blaring horns of the predictable afternoon traffic jams outside.

With a fine spread to choose from, guests had the choice to head to the courtyard and enjoy their Christmas lunch in the open air.

CEO, Audrey Hinchcliffe, was adamant this was no day for speeches, but did give thanks for the opportunity to get everyone together; managers, staff and a few specially invited guests from the business sector and some of MMS' biggest clients. But in true Hinchcliffe style, she 'ordered' everyone that when the time came, they shouldn't hesitate to kick off their heels and spend the afternoon dancing.
