The Editor, Sir:
There is no country that can really prosper without co-existing with the United States of America. (U.S.A.)
America is the most powerful of nations at this time, and she has used her wealth and power for good, for caring for weaker nations and for strengthening areas of the globe under threat.
It makes no sense, therefore, to side with countries that are actively anti-American. The U.S. believes in democracy; it believes in using power to combat regimes that promote violence and hatred; and it believes in the principle of right and wrong.
Jamaicans, where do you stand on the key issue of America? Voters of Jamaica, are you prepared to use your vote to put into power a Government that will build closer ties of cooperation with one of the greatest democracies?
Are you prepared to stand by a benevolent power that has stood over centuries for Christian values and way of life? Jamaica and America: Do you have the courage to put them together for a stronger, surer future?
Jamaicans, will you make it happen on voting day?
I am, etc.,
