Congrats to our cops
published: Wednesday | December 27, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

On Wednesday, November 29, the cellphone of my stepdaughter, a recent visitor to Montego Bay, was stolen on Union Street. Due to the patrol by plain-clothes policemen, the suspect was apprehended quite speedily in the afternoon attempting to do the same act on a schoolboy and my stepdaughter's phone was recovered.

I wish to congratulate the police party, especially Constable Lattibeau-diere for the excellent work. I would like to also congratulate him for his investigative role and also how he conducted himself on the witness stand during the trial. His efforts not only led to a conviction, but the removal from the streets of Montego Bay of a known culprit for sometime.

It's this type of professional approach to police work that augurs for a safer environment and earns the public's trust. Once again, many thanks to the hardworking policemen of Montego Bay.

I am, etc.,

MARIO WOODE
