Paul's conviction that he'd been given the wrong medicine prompted questions from Susan when he turned out to be right.

During therapy, Nick remembered how his mother took money from Captain Kramer and other men for sex, and was disgusted to know that Jackie had been a hooker. Nick confronted her, but blamed himself. Taylor refused to give up on a despondent Nick, and hoped he would sign over the papers returning the company to the Forresters. Instead, Nick surprised Taylor with a kiss. Stephanie overheard Taylor recording her session notes and was warned by Taylor that if she reveals any of it, she'll lose Taylor's help regarding the company.

Patrick forced Hope at gunpoint to go away with him, intending to kill her, per EJ's orders. As Hope went into labour, Bo arrived and saved her, learning from Patrick that he (Bo) is the baby girl's father. The police then arrested Patrick. Meanwhile, after EJ hinted to John there's a second assassin in Salem, John was shot trying to get EJ's gun. EJ got away, grabbing Sami, who was returning from a getaway tryst with Lucas when their temporary shelter collapsed, trapping Lucas. In return for saving Lucas, EJ forced Sami to have sex with him. Steve had a disturbing reaction when Benjy handed him a tarot card of the devil. Abby was crushed to see Max and Mimi's closeness.

Ava had to tell Coop they need a break when she learned he told Jeffrey to leave and not give Ava his gift. Goons beat Jeffrey when he stepped in to protect Ava. Reva lashed out at Sheila after finding her going through Billy's things.

After admitting to Blair that their baby died in the accident, a grieving Todd feared Blair would never forgive him, but she and Todd shared a toast to the New Year. Accusing Marty of working for Spencer, John found that he had to accept her help. Bo was concerned that Todd could actually be guilty of everything in Spencer's accusations. Dorian revealed to Viki that she's prepared to fight for Clint's affection. With Jessica displaying some of Tess' characteristics, Nash became increasingly drawn to her. Rex and Adriana felt they did the right thing not telling Todd the truth.

Chad and Whitney were married in front of their friends and family, only to find a dead body hidden in the wedding cake. Whitney's happiness was shattered when she heard Chad on the phone, planning to see his lover. Intending to prove Fox is faking his illness, Miguel was caught by Eve as he rifled through Fox's medical files. Meanwhile, Kay informed Fox that she knows all about his so-called medical problems. JT placed a memory drive containing everyone's secrets at his old tabloid office, which Rebecca was unable to retrieve. Fancy emerged from her coma, with Luis by her side.

Phyllis admitted to Michael that she thinks something is wrong with Lauren, who won't leave the apartment and is too attached to Fen. Colleen was hurt to see Amber and Korbel together, believing he thinks their lovemaking was a one-time thing. While Jill was distracted by a phone call, Gloria secured a New Year's kiss from Will.
