The Editor, Sir:Kindly allow me to express my congratulations to your outstanding columnist Ian Boyne for receiving the prestigious Morris Cargill Award. He is richly deserving of this honour.
I look forward to reading Mr. Boyne's well researched and excellently written articles each Sunday, and am very pleased that his consistently high standard of journalistic work has been recognised and rewarded.
I commend him on the depth and breadth of the research that is evident in the articles. While there are some other good journalists in Jamaica, none has demonstrated the degree of scholarly expertise and mastery of as wide a range of subjects as Mr. Boyne.
I mean no disrespect to his colleague Robert Buddan, or John Maxwell, both of whom I have great respect for.
Mr. Boyne's brilliant analysis, superior research skills and intellectual depth are what makes him such an outstanding journalist.
Congratulations to him and The Gleaner. Keep up the great work.
I am, etc.,
