Lose weight, get fit, eat right, get that dream job, buy that dream car, make your first million. These may be some of the New Year's resolutions that you have put on your 'to do' list for 2007.
Well, why not get that winning fragrance to go with your winning attitude? It takes mere seconds to spray on your perfume or body splash but the decision to purchase one should not be done in haste.
In an interview with writer Ivana Tavernese for Canoe.ca, fragrance expert Marian Bendeth said choosing a fragrance is one of the most important decisions you make in the morning.
"Fragrance speaks volumes about you, without you having to speak a word," says Bendeth. "It's your walking biography. People assume things about you based on your fragrance, even though you're not conscious about it."
According to Bendeth, this is what your fragrance says about you:
Floral family of fragrances (roses and jasmine)The person who wears floral fragrances tends to be the beautifier, the collector, the host or hostess.
Woody family of fragrances (sandlewood, cedarwood, and logwood)
Those who prefer woody fragrances are polished, traditional, academic, calm, cautious.
Green family of fragrances (reminiscent of leaves, grass, moss, hay, or morning dew drops)The wearers of these scents tend to be athletes, the sports lover, or the gardener.
Oceanic or marine family of fragrance (reminiscent of sea kelp, the river, a pond or rain)
Those who prefer these fragrances tend to be claustrophobic, perhaps the idea of wide open spaces is soothing. They tend to be simplistic with their furnishing and even prefer jeans and a T-shirt and like to kickback.
