Being from the shorter persuasion I would like to first reiterate a phrase that is spoken by all women and was even the title phrase to a song done by General Degree: "A just the other day a gal whisper in ma ears, a tell mi seh GOOD MAN 'SHORT' NOWADAYS."
Being a 5'3" young man at a prominent university in Jamaica has its downsides in terms of the variety of women I can date at school when it comes to height, that's why I go for girls my height or shorter and you would be surprised of how many there are. I must say that none of the short-man stereotypes suit me, except for the loud mouth one and I have never found it hard to get a date or enter into a serious relationship with a woman.
I also think that we short men ( well I can really only speak for myself) find ourselves in better relationships than our tall counterparts as the women who I date likes me for who I am and not how tall I am (adding that all my height went into other places). My charm, personality and wit are what I use to attract women and I have even been categorised by some of my close friends (male and female) as a 'gyalis' something I am not necessarily proud of but I accept my title nonetheless.
You see, some women may say they don't see themselves with a short man but hey, they have never met me I bet. I even have a T-shirt which I made with the title quote in it (Good man 'short' now-a-days) and it always manages to stir up conversation and laughter.
I am a good man and a good catch because I fit the criteria, I'm short.
