The PM and Trafigura
published: Tuesday | January 9, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has been the only prime minister to date that has openly proclaimed Jesus Christ as her Lord. Many have argued that she has used this as a scam to win the favour of the electorate, however as a Christian myself I do not believe this to be so.

PM REFUSE

As a Christian I am disturbed that the Trafigura issue has not been properly dealt with, as the Prime Minister has refused to tell the country what she knows and when she knew it. I believe the secrecy has compromised her integrity and as a result God will set his hand against her and the country. (e.g. malaria outbreak)

I think her only option at this time is to:

Come before God and confess all that she knows about the Trafigura transaction

Ask Him to strengthen her to make the confession to Jamaica

Finally make the confession and trust God for the outcome.

I would like to use this medium to ask the Prime Minister to read the recorded account of Samuel and Saul in 1 Samuel 15, and 1 John 1:9.

In the final analysis she must do the right thing for what does it profit a woman to hold the office of Prime Minister and lose her soul.

I am, etc.,
