Supreme Court Judge Marva McIntosh has been appointed Senior Puisne Judge.

The post had been vacant since August last year when Senior Puisne Judge Basil Reid retired.

Justice McIntosh was appointed a Puisne Judge in May 1999.

Prior to that she was a prosecutor in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Registrar of the Supreme Court and Master in Chambers at the Supreme Court. She was also in private practice for several years.

The duties of the Senior Puisne Judge include vetting the quarterly returns of cases from the Resident Magistrates' Courts and presiding in the Judicial Review Court and the Full Court.
