Eliphene Cadet scored twice and propelled Haiti to a 3-0 win over Bermuda in their decisive second-leg Digicel Caribbean Cup football qualifying play-off match at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Cadet scored a goal in each half and Boucicat Alexandre added the other goal as the Haitians completed a 5-0 whipping of the Bermudians to secure a place in the Digicel Caribbean Cup finals.
Haiti, 2-0 winners of the first-leg match at the same venue on Sunday, will begin play in the eight-team finals tomorrow.
They will face former champions Martinique on opening day tomorrow at the Hasely Crawford Stadium after hosts Trinidad and Tobago tackle Barbados.
Haiti, who won their opening round Group D qualifying series in Jamaica in September, were forced into these play-offs when they could only manage third in the Group I second stage of qualifying behind Cuba and Martinique in Fort de France.
After facing Martinique on Friday, they will meet the hosts Trinidad & Tobago, and Barbados in their Group A assignments in the final round.
Cuba, Guadeloupe, Guyana and St. Vincent and the Grenadines comprise the other group in which play starts on Sunday.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament in the USA, giving the CFU - for the first time - four spots in the confederationŐs biggest tournament.
