Simpson suspended

Former champion jockey Trevor Simpson has been suspended for two racedays by the stewards for careless riding aboard MAGIC MOMENT in the fourth race at Caymanas Park last Saturday.

Simpson was penalised for causing interference to the runner-up RAGING FURY in the last 200 metres of the straight five race. His suspension takes effect tomorrow.

Also suspended for two days at Tuesday's hearing at the Winchester Road offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission was jockey Robert Stewart for careless riding aboard MAZIE JAMES in the first race on Wednesday, December 20, causing interference to SHE'S A DIAMOND approaching the half-mile.

Stewart's suspension commences on Saturday, January 27.
