Big win for Kirkvine in JTTA league

Hosts Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club I crushed Pembroke Hall II, 4-1 in a Division 3 rescheduled match, in the Jamaica Table Tennis Associations (JTTA) / Northwest Development national table tennis club league which continued on Friday.

This result takes Windalco KSC I to the top of the standings in group 3 with 13 points, ahead of JUTC and Friendship who are both on 11 points, and Pembroke Hall II, eight points. Windalco KSC I and JUTC each have a match left to play against each other, while Friendship and Pembroke Hall II have completed their fixtures. The top two teams after that last remaining match will advance to quarter-finals.

In individual results on Friday, Jay Wisdom overpowered Kerome Sinclair 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-4), Sean Chang outplayed Morine Dawson 3-1 (11-7, 11-3, 10-12, 11-7) and captain Patrick Clarke turned back Morine's brother Matthew Dawson 3-1 (11-1, 6-11, 11-6, 11-7) in singles matches; and Chang and Wisdom whipped juniors Sinclair and Jermaine James 3- 0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-4) in doubles, for the four victories of Windalco KSC I. James shocked veteran George Hyman 3-1 (11-5, 11-5, 2-11, 13-11) to pull one back for Pembroke Hall II.

In results from Thursday's action, Highgate United shocked hosts and defending champions Pembroke Hall I, 3-2 in the Division Two at Pembroke Hall Community Centre. In other games hosts Friendship trounced Pembroke Hall II, 4-1 at Campion College in Division 3 action.

Highgate United and Pembroke Hall I have completed their fixtures with Pembroke Hall I who ended on 14 points. Highgate United have 11 points, Melbourne 10 points and Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club II five points. Melbourne have two matches left to play against Highgate United and Windalco KSC II who each have a match remaining.

In group 4 JUTC and Friendship are tied on 11 points atop the standings. Windalco KSC I have 10 points and Pembroke Hall II, seven. Friendship have completed their fixtures, JUTC and Pembroke Hall II each have a match left to play, while Windalco KSC I have two matches remaining.
