Grant

Ann-Marie Grant has been appointed executive director of American Foundation for the University of the West Indies (AFUWI).

She will be responsible for the marketing and fund-raising activities of the University of the West Indies (UWI), in the United States and the management of the secretariat of AFUWI which was established in 1956 to develop an endowment fund in the United States for the UWI.

Ms. Grant, a Jamaican, comes to AFUWI following a three-year assignment as business development manager for GraceKennedy Remittance Services (GKRS) in Brooklyn, New York.

Prior, she served in a senior capacity in the technology and banking sectors in Kingston.

Ms. Grant holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the South Eastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a BSc. in Management from the University of the West Indies, Mona and has won many awards for community service and entrepreneurship in New York.

In welcoming Ms. Grant to AFUWI, Mr. Flanigan president of the AFUWI said, "Her experience and expertise will be of tremendous value as we work to strengthen the links between the UWI, the Caribbean Diaspora in the U.S.A., and corporate America."
