The Editor, Sir:
With respect to your report titled, 'JCF seeks another foreign officer', published January 12, it is a shame and a travesty of sorts that the Jamaica Constabulary Force is attempting to offer multi-million dollars to a foreign unknown to help fight crime on the island when one of Jamaica's and the world's greatest crime fighters, SSP Reneto Adams, remains sidelined in our beloved country. This is just a thought to ponder for Commissioner Lucius Thomas, Security Minister Dr. Peter Phillips and Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, even as the Commissioner forecasts much pre-election bloodletting.
Bring back Reneto Adams and train more Jamaican cops to be like him - fearless, uncompromising and effective.
I am, etc.,
