Police National extended their lead to eight points atop the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Jamaica National (JN) Super League, after whipping Mountain View 4-0 at Duhaney Park on Saturday.

Police National now lead the standings with 23 points, eight ahead of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), 15, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Cavalier (13).

Santos slipped into third place (14) after they were beaten 2-1 by Meadhaven United (14).

In other games, Constant Spring (11) defeated Duhaney Park 2-0 and Maverley/Hughenden (10) edged Greenwich Town (11) 1-0.

At Up Park Camp, Cavalier dominated the early period and were rewarded in the 35th minute when Alanzo Adlam lobbed the ball over the head of goalkeeper Allien Whittaker to make it 1-0 at the half-time break.

In the second half, the JDF came out looking the better team. They went close to scoring when Whittaker's 30-yard free kick was spectacular saved by custodian Everton Scarlett in the 60th minute.

Two minutes later, Cavalier's Jermaine Rowe was given a red card after a second bookable offence.

Suffering

His team would suffer 10 minutes later when Mark Miller gave the JDF the equaliser with a well-taken free kick from 22 yards which went to the left of Scarlett.

"I am definitely not happy with the way my team played today," said Owen Nelson, coach of JDF.

"I think that we are going through a bad patch presently. But all we need to do now is to go back to the drawing board, work on our weak areas and hopefully strengthen them and hope this can benefit us throughout of the season."

Assistant coach of Cavalier, Andrew Gill, said: "In the first half we played a very good game - we got some chances to score and we didn't score them.

"However, in the second half we got a critical chance and we missed it and then they equalised. After the goal was scored the game got a bit physical which resulted in one of our players picking up a red card, which affected our passing game a lot," Gill explained.
