Tivoli Gardens came from behind to hold August Town to a 1-1 draw in their Wray and Nephew National Premier League (NPL) match at the UWI Bowl yesterday.
Gary Brooks gave August Town a 12th minute lead, latching on to to a high Richard Hoo pass before firing past a diving Damion Crooks in goal.
Tivoli's Roland Dean found himself unmarked to nod home a Fabian Davis corner kick in the 56th minute for a share of the points.
The west Kingston-based Tivoli Gardens consolidated fifth position on 27 points, while August Town gained another valuable point to be on 16.
The game started at a fast pace and as early as the third minute August Town midfielder Asa McIntosh got a glorious chance to open the scoring, but his toe-punch sailed over the crossbar.
The home team would not have to wait long and in the 12th minute the bustling Gary Brooks latched on to Hoo's long pass to fire home.
August Town, through Carlos Barrett, Brooks, Daniel Shaw, Kevin Blair and Zico Herrera, were proving a handful for the visitors as the half ended 1-0.
However, the second period was a different affair and Tivoli, through Davis, Christopher Jackson, Jermaine Taylor, Denroy Gordon and Dean gradually came into their own and it was no surprise when they found the equaliser.
The hard working Dean found oceans of space in the box to head home a Davis corner kick in the 56th minute to silence the home fans.
