Digicel Cup semis clash
published: Saturday | January 20, 2007

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):

Guadeloupe surged into the semi-finals of the Digicel Caribbean Cup football tournament when they beat St. Vincent and the Grenadines 1-0 at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium on Thursday night.

Prolific Dominique Mocka struck the winning goal early in the first half that gave the French side group honours after Cuba had played to a 0-0 draw with Guyana to claim their spot in the last four.

The semi-finals are set for today at the Hasely Crawford Stadium with Guadeloupe facing Haiti in an all-French clash and Trinidad and Tobago meeting Cuba.

All four semi-finalists have also secured automatic spots to the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament in the USA this summer.
