Spring need a string of constant wins
published: Saturday | January 20, 2007

Kwesi Mugisa, Staff Reporter

If they don't find a way to string some wins together, former Premier League powerhouse team Constant Spring could find themselves relegated twice in two seasons.

In 10th place, just five points from the bottom spot on 11 points, they will definitely be looking for all three points when they take on fifth-place Cavalier (13) at Constant Spring Complex, as Jamaica National (JN)/Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League action continues at 3:30 p.m. today.

Tight race

However, a very tight race has developed in this year's competition, and while Spring are five points from the league floor, they are only four away from a second-place spot.

Looking to extend their lead, already eight points clear of the chasing pack, Police National (23) will travel to Tinson Pen where they face ninth-place Greenwich Town (11). Having not won in their last three games, Greenwich Town will be hoping that playing on their home pitch will push them to an upset. The team is unbeaten at home so far this season, but have only won once in four outings there.
