Of guns, elections and mystery creature
published: Saturday | January 20, 2007

Jah Foresight, Contributor

The commissioner of Police has stated he has intelligence that weapons are being stockpiled for the upcoming general election. The politicians are hypocritical. Mayor of Portmore George Lee has fingered one community in the Sunshine City - Naggo Head - for being involved in generating a weapon cache as well.

Some of the citizens are incensed and are demanding an apology. I hope he will never give one.

Gunshots have been raining down on Mountain View and the security forces have found it difficult to contain the violence. We need seriously to talk about the smuggling of guns from Haiti before the Caribbean Community seeks to embrace that nation. Some serious weapons are in the hands of some 'fishermen' and pirates and I think we have to place close scrutiny on our borders. I don't care if they want to fume. We also have to study how these guns are so readily available in Haiti and look for the common denominators.

Trigger-happy cops

The killing of the Rasta man and his 'bredren' in the rural district of Glengoffe was unconscionable. I understand that policemen are very trigger-happy nowadays, especially with the slaughter of three of their colleagues since the start of the year.

It is common in rural Jamaica to see farmers walk with their machetes. It is common to drive with your machetes as well. I HAVE driven with my machete and been stopped by police who want to charge me with carrying an offensive weapon. I am planning to buy about seven machetes and travel with them, since I must have workers who want to chop bush. If you travel in rural Westmoreland, for example, you will see farmers riding with their cutlasses to go and buy their lotto tickets.

Machetes are tools used to make a decent living in rural Jamaica. I am sure that by 2017 people will be smoking spliffs and walking with their machetes just as it has been since slavery.

It is time for you to smile. I see where in Manchester a beast is on the rampage, and the councillor has cautioned citizens against using outdoor toilets at night. One citizen believes the mystery beast is a cross between a lion and a monkey. Should we call the animal a lionkey or monklion?

Mystery creature

If I had the time I would get a tent and go camping in this district to solve the mystery. I think the district needs a Sherlock Holmes like me. The world has had the mystery of the Loch Ness and Bigfoot monsters and I think we need CNN for this. If I ever win the $36 million this weekend, I will invest in making a movie about this creature. I hope that we can bring in this animal alive, take some pictures with smiling residents from the district and send it to the zoo.

Last year this time, the numbers that turned up in the first five draws were 2, 8, 10, 11, 18, 34; 3, 21, 24, 29, 36, 37; 3, 9, 12, 26, 21, 36; 2, 6, 8, 21, 26, 36; and 1, 2, 3, 12, 17 and 35. The numbers in the first five draws for 2007 are 7, 22, 24, 25, 30, 32; 1, 2, 12, 20, 22, 32; 2, 6, 17, 22, 33, 34; 3, 6, 17, 22, 33, 34; 3, 6, 27, 32, 35, 36; 5, 6, 7, 14, 23, and 25. Please look at the similarities and just work your magic.

The numbers last Saturday were 3, 6, 27, 32, 35, 36 and the bonus ball was 26. The numbers this Wednesday were 5, 6, 7, 14, 23, 25, and the bonus ball, 22. The number 6 was repeated with an example of consecutive numbers 5, 6, 7 on Wednesday.

I must thank the two ladies for the offer of the puppies. The only problem is the distance and I am still figuring how to deal with it. My schedule is rough and tuff. Still looking for other options as well.
