Naggo Head busy in transfer market
published: Sunday | January 21, 2007

- Roen Nelson ... back at Portmore.

Relegation battlers Naggo Head of St Catherine have been the busiest club so far since the transfer window opened on January 3 facilitating the movement of players from club to club.

The club, which is based just a stone's throw from former champions Portmore United and which shares a home venue with them were involved in the movement of no fewer than 17 players. They brought in 15 players, which means that they basically revamped the squad.

While they brought in new blood, they lost two of their most enterprising players, midfielders Kirk Ramsay and Carlos Barrett. Ramsay made his way back to Waterhouse, their only activity in the window, and Barrett moved to August Town.

Portmore United were also very busy and have been involved in 10 transfers. They welcomed back Wolry Wolfe, Adrien Mitchell and Roen Nelson from Joe Public of Trinidad and Tobago in addition to four new players. They allowed three players to leave the club including goalkeeper Jacomena Barrett on loan to Naggo Head.

Boys' Town too

Also featuring in the transfer activity were Boys' Town with three players coming in. Harbour View with three additions also, August Town with two in and two out, Seba with three in, Wadadah two in and two out.

Waterhouse and Village each brought in a player, while Arnett Gardens had one player in Daniel Shaw heading to August Town. Tivoli Gardens are the only club not to have participated in the transfer market so far.
