The Caribbean Maritime Institute (CMI), the Caribbean's centre of excellence for tertiary maritime education, training, research and consultancy, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions.
1. DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & CORPORATE PLANNING
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Partnering with the executive management team and the board of directors as a member of the executive management team in providing effective governance to the organisation.
Participating in the corporate and strategic planning process and ensuring implementation of the actions agreed.
Providing the executive leadership team and the board of directors with regular and accurate information on the financial status of the institution, including budget variance analysis and cash-flow statements
Special condition
Successful candidate is expected to reside on the compound.
The ideal candidate should have:
A minimum of grade nine level of education or proven ability to read and write.
At least three years' experience in a caretaker position.
2. STUDENT SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR/COUNSELLOR
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing and continuously improving customer service standards relating to all student service processes.
Counselling individual and groups.
Supervising the Student Relations Programme.
The ideal candidate should have:
First degree in psychology, counselling or other related discipline.
Related administrative experience in an academic institution.
Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
At least three years' experience in counselling or similar position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A first degree in management or finance.
ACCA certification.
Sound technical accounting and finance know-how.
Sound project appraisal and analytical skills.
The ability to manage teams towards the achievement of agreed objectives.
3. CARETAKER
Core functions/duties
Provide caretaker services at the Admiralty Houses/Caribbean Maritime Institute.
Maintain an active presence on the compound.
Ensure that lawns, trees are properly trimmed at Admiralty Houses.
Responsible for ensuring that students' quarters are kept in good condition.
To enforce the rules of CMI at Admiralty Houses.
