Children warned not to interfere with anti-mosquito fogging vehicles
published: Saturday | January 27, 2007

Residents of Denham Town, Greenwich Town, Tivoli Gardens, Union Gardens, Delacree Park and Trench Town in the Corporate Area are being advised to keep their children away from anti-mosquito fogging vehicles working in those areas.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement yesterday that fogging teams are still having problems with children running in the path of their vehicles and attempting to climb on them.

However, residents are being advised that the fumes can make children sick, besides the threat of interfering with moving vehicles.

Teams also observed that the children wore little or no clothing, which makes them vulnerable to mosquito bites, potentially exposing them to malaria.

The ministry is again advising residents to ensure that children wear protective clothing to cover their skin.
