POINTE-A-PIERRE (CMC):
Off-spinner Amit Jaggernauth grabbed seven wickets as Trinidad & Tobago asserted their dominance and pushed Windward Islands to the brink of defeat on the second day of their fourth round Carib Beer Series match at Guaracara Park, Trinidad, yesterday.
The 23-year-old spun a web around the visitors to claim a career-best seven for 65 as the Windwards were bundled out for a paltry 154, in response to Trinidad & Tobago's 477 for nine declared.
Asked to follow-on by 323 runs, the Windwards were in dire straits on 49 for two, still requiring 274 runs to force T&T to bat again.
Earlier, T&T resuming on 364 for six, reached their eventual score with skipper Daren Ganga carrying his unbeaten 127 to 167 before being dismissed.
His overall innings spanned 342 minutes and 227 balls and included 13 fours and one six.
Jaggernauth (20 not out) joined Rampaul (39 not out) and enjoyed a late flourish. Denis George picked up four for 107 while Lewis chipped in with two for 96.
