'Disgusting' broadcast
published: Friday | February 2, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I was travelling in my car in the late evening of Tuesday, January 30, when I tuned in to the radio station 93.7 FM to find what I consider quality programming, which I have come to expect from this station. What I heard instead was, to my astonishment and dismay, what I consider to be the most disgusting radio braodcasting I have ever heard in all my life!

This programme I think was called 'Naked Truth', or something to that effect. The topic being discussed was 'Masturbation'. I have no problem with people wanting to discuss this on public radio, and it was apparent that some persons revelled in doing so. But I found the language, style, and general attitude of the hosts to be nothing short of lewd, vulgar, unashamedly and utterly disgusting!

To the producers I say it is all well and good to try to seek popularity for your station, but not to stoop to such levels of depravation to achieve it.

I am, etc.,

Cherro

Port Maria P.O.
