The Editor, Sir:I am appalled at the cartoon of the Prime Minister in The Gleaner dated February 1. I have listened to the clip on the interview that she had done concerning the issue of travelling abroad and I am of the opinion that at no time during that interview did she behave in such a ghastly way captured by the cartoonist.
I have no problem in the comments that have been made on the issue of the Prime Minister's travel arrangements, but as a woman, I am disgusted with the cartoonist's interpretation of Mrs. Simpson Miller. I am aware that there is freedom of the press, but I think this freedom has now gone too far.
Some of the Prime Minister's responses over the years have been dramatic and forthright, but this cartoon does not do her any justice. At no time has she ever acted in the way portrayed.
I wish to tell the PM to stay strong, believe in God who will give you the strength to continue to lead Jamaica, land we love. God's speed PM.
I am, etc.,
