Man arrested in connection with multiple killings
published: Saturday | February 3, 2007

The Major Investigation Team (MIT) has arrested and charged a 31-year-old man in connection with one of the 23 murders linked to the internal feud between rival factions of Blackwood Terrace, 'Common', Black Ants and Donmair, located off Red Hills Road, St. Andrew.

Reports are that Richard Roy Harrison, an unemployed resident of Blackwood Terrace, has been charged with the murder of Angela Ashley, who was gunned down last December. Her brother Tyrone Ashley, alias 'Koro', was murdered two months prior to her death.

First arrest

A spokesperson at the MIT unit said on Wednesday that this was the first arrest in connection with the multiple killings. The lawmen said they have interest in speaking with Red Hills Road strongman, Cleveland Downer, alias 'Caasie', who they believed can assist with their investigations.

The series of killings began on Sunday, November 19 last year. Six persons were killed and nine others injured during that incident.
