150 murders, 250 bullets recovered since January 1
published: Saturday | February 3, 2007

With at least 150 murders reported since the start of the year, the police say they have seized 250 assorted rounds of ammunition within the period.

The lawmen said 77 rounds of ammunition were seized Wednesday morning during an operation carried out in east Kingston. In the meantime, the five persons who were held during the raid have been released.

Police investigators say there was no evidence connecting the five with the ammunition, which was found by a joint police-military patrol which also seized a 9mm magazine. The items were found at a premises on Dunoon Road, Kingston.
