Lotto Vibes - February romance and skin bleaching
published: Saturday | February 3, 2007

Jah Foresight, Contributor

February 2007 is here and the year is just flying. There is a new jackpot for the month, and one winner is smiling. I wish it were I.

This is the shortest month of the year and is generally dedicated to love and Black History Month. I just think that Black History Month should be commemorated in July.

No bleaching

On a positive note, I think it should be a time of reflection, to look at issues such as bleaching. I am going to state upfront that I will never date a woman who does that.

I have a helper who has destroyed a lot of my trousers using such chemicals. I used to love Batman comics when I was a child and I was very fearful of the villain called Two Face.

I adore a woman in nude. It is one of the greatest creations God ever made, especially our 'bootylicious' black Jamaican women.

But I would surely run if a see a naked woman with black skin and pink face. As for the men, all I can say in gasping breath is, 'Puff, puff, poof.' I think these 'dermatologists' should be banned and arrested and be given a class in self-esteem.

Celebrating music

It is nice to see hear some of the radio stations playing Dennis Brown for hours. There are some youths who cannot sing a D.B. or a Bob Marley song. A current sound system just played three tired songs at every session. One must remember that Dennis had a more extensive catalogue than Tuff Gong.

This is also the month that we celebrate Bob Marley and we hope that Ziggy might pick up another Grammy. Stephen Marley will be 'dropping' his first solo album and the brothers are planning a new version of the Smile Jamaica concert in St. Ann.

I hope we can reflect on great men such as Martin Luther King Jr., Walter Rodney, Che, Burning Spear, Fidel Castro, Malcolm X, Tupac, Peter Tosh, Marcus Garvey, Huey Newton, among others. I wonder who is the real black hero of the '90s. I think most of our black men have lost their testicles.

Men hard to find

Let me look at the season of love. I went into a pharmacy yesterday and I was greeted with the traditional red and white colours. At first, I thought that they had not removed their decorations since Christmas.

It was the teddy bears that really hit me with the reality. I asked myself, why should I buy a teddy bear for a woman? She is not a toddler, unless I believe in Joe Gr-. She is going to hug up this thing in my absence. I would prefer she hug up nothing and simply go to bed.

This is the season when most men are hard to find. I think that most women realise that they are in charge, especially if they are independent. It is extremely hard to maintain more than two women nowadays.

These modern women have 'high chests' and demands, and the best thing for men is just to disappear.

It is rare to find a man who can show you his Valentine's gift. I think that our women should invest in Valentine's gifts to show our men that it is not a one-way street.

If the man is married, do not go and buy him a diamond ring, but do something simple that will not be noticed. Women, do not pressure your men to buy things they cannot buy for themselves.
