My daahlings, y'all know you got it absolutely and fabulously right, when two weeks after the event, people are still talking about the shindig, and all they are saying is just how absolutely fab it all was!
Well, sweet-things, such is the case with the 40th anniversary commemorative cocktail reception and gala that Earl and Beverly Levy threw two Saturdays ago on the east lawns of Devon House. Yes honeys, it's been like that and then some, as those who made the cut for this high society do are just raving about the beauty of it all!
So kudos all around then, and many happy returns, as you now embark on the journey to the next decade and beyond!
And speaking of the beautiful people, it's February, my dears, and so y'all know that not only is it the month for love and lovers, it's also all about the beautiful women who were born in this the shortest-of-calendar months, and the style and cachet they take to the party! And here, the party is all about life and living!
Birthday celebrants
Well, among the fabulous women who celebrate their birthdays during the month of February are: the charmingly fab Carla Seaga, who celebrated her birthday at the start of the week. The talented Donna Feltis Coore, celebrated on Tuesday. Cuban national-turned Jamaican resident, the lovely Aloima Suarez, celebrated yesterday. The gorgeous one, Audrey Miller, celebrates today. And come next Wednesday, the absolutely fab Romae Gordon, Pulse GM, will be blowing out the candles on her birthday cake; as will be the sensationally stunning 40-something leggy beauty, Michelle La Porte, web mistress at Hedonism III.
It was a quiet and rather intimate do for Mrs. Seaga, however, as hubby, a gourmet and then some, made it that much more special, by putting his culinary skills at work.
Donna Feltis Coore took in a concert dedicated to that great Jamaican icon who shared her birthday when he was alive - the late Robert Nesta Marley.
Security Conglomateur Kenny Benjamin treated his companion Ms. Suarez to a special do! The fab.
Ms. Gordon, is on her way to London with beau Kingsley Cooper, for the London launch of Caribbean Fashion Week 2007, and on completion of that fashionable engagement will fly over to Paris for her birthday, high-end excitement, and then unto Madrid, before returning to Kingston.
Michelle La Porte, however, will be kicking up a fabulous birthday storm, on the North Coast, as she will be joined by friends and admirers, determined to turn the place out!
And still speaking of the beautiful people, it is now just around three years or so since his older scion Sebastian Cartade, wed his Texan belle in a faultless wedding ceremony and reception that really was a week-long affair, of the finest order that saw invitees jetting in from all over the globe to the power wedding. Well my dears, snob-society is all set to jet-off again to attend at the wedding of the Cartade's second son, as Oliver Cartade is all set to tie the marital knot to his belle, the fabulously lovely Brazilian beauty Adriana Aguiar in May. It is the ceremony and celebration that society watchers and social observers are predicting will be no less a lavish and fab affair as was that of his sibling!
My daahlings, the date is May 12 and already, haute-society is gearing up for the nuptials, as was the case with the wedding of sibling Sebastian, snob-society is gearing up for a proper social invasion of Sao Paulo, and so all the private jets and first class seating to this famed destination are already booked, the couturiers called in, and gems and precious stones sent out to be polished, just in time for the Sao Paulo outing!
More anon, my dears, as this promises to be one social shindig of the elegant order and nothing but.
And from one exotic location to another: The buzz is that former Third Secretary to the British High Commission in Kingston, the rather affable Mark Waller, who concluded his second tour of duty here in mid November, is now on assignment as the Governor's Representative in Pitcairn, a posting that should last a year!
We wish him well!
And hotelier Josef Frostmyer is the new Honorary Consul of Switzerland to Jamaica, following upon the retirement of businessman and leading social powerhouse Peter Bangerter.
The new head of delegation European Union here is Ambassador Dr. Marco Mazzocchi-Alemanni, who succeeds Ambassador (Ret.) Gerd Jarchow, and he has been doing the rounds since presenting his credentials to The Most Hon. Professor Kenneth Hall.
And no, Sandra Kennedy Lyn and estranged hubby Trevor Lyn, were not out together at the just concluded Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, the truth is they were both out, but definitely not together!
