NPG, far from retirement!

After 25 years in the insurance industry, National Property and General Insurance Brokers (NPG) is not about to retire.

The insurance brokers did take a time-out on Saturday night to reflect on the quarter century of achievements at its silver anniversary awards dinner.

Thirteen employees received awards for 11, 12, 15 and 25 years of dedication to NPG. Among them was Managing Director Peter Thomas, who was one of two individuals who had been there for the long haul. He remembered the early days and recalled the steady climb to NPG's present operations in nine locations islandwide. He was full of praise for the shareholders who he says were all important to the company, whether praising their achievements or chastising their mistakes; which in turn helped them to perform better.

NPG started out as insurance agents, but in 1989, the rules of the game changed and agents could no longer make submissions. That led to the entity transforming itself into an insurance brokerage firm. The clients stuck with them and they even picked up a few new ones as well.

Thomas thanked the clients for their encouragement and for always promoting the company; citing that "they have made NPG what it is".
