Jamaica is no longer beautiful
published: Friday | February 23, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS LETTER gives me a sad feeling inside for the many people who I can't help anymore there on the island. I am very sick now because of what has happened to me in Jamaica, and sad to say, I will be the last person to encourage anyone to go to Jamaica again. Jamaica has become a den of sin, and the people have become accustomed to it. The people like me who have put our lives into trying to see a better Jamaica, have at the same time seen sin glorified by the masses.

I sit today and ask myself, don't the people want better for themselves? Are we not the descendants of the men and women who have given their lives so that we could have a better life? But each day, you read of sons killing other, police and lawyers milking the country on a daily basis. And let us not forget the Church where one thing is preached and another thing is lived. I hurt to write this letter but it will be my last time writing on the subject. Let us face it, Jamaica is no longer beautiful, and will never again be until the system decides to rid its self of the bad servants it now has robbing the system. I will spend the rest of my life wanting to come back to Jamaica and at the same time knowing I'll never be able to. Thanks for taking the time to read a sad man's words.

I am, etc.,
