Partying with the studs
published: Friday | February 23, 2007

Sacha Walters, Staff Reporter

Patrons of the annual Ham's Stud Farmparty had a whale of time on February 7.

Celebrating the end of breeding season, the annual event is must-attend for all in the industry.

We spotted the Mayor of Portmore, George Lee, Renato Adams and scores of guests from the racehorse industry mingling and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

Music from Glady and Wild Bunch Disco had even the youngest children getting down on the dance floor. They mixed up the tunes, giving the crowd an exciting taste of the old and the new, all the while dancing under the cool night air.

The decor lent to the relaxed atmosphere. With two bars, cosy secluded sofas hidden behind flowing white curtains, patrons had ample opportunity to relax or mingle with the crowd.

Early in the evening guests lined up to enjoy the scrumptious food, jerked pork, chicken, roti and roast fish were among the items on the menu.

The free-flowing liquor loosened them up to get moving on the dance floor. Howard Hamilton, one of the hosts, set an example for his guests, sticking close to the dance floor all night.
