Anthony Foster, Freelance WriterTHE SEMI-FINAL round of the 2007 Grace Shield Premier League bowls off today with two matches in the Corporate Area.
Beaten A-League finalists Dunoon Technical face Jamaica College (JC) at Courtney Walsh Oval, Excelsior High, while Norman Manley travel to Jamaica's old capital, Spanish Town, to tackle Jonathan Grant, winners of the First Global A-League championship, at the community centre.
Both matches are over two days and startat 10:00 a.m. each day.
Though they are coming off a defeat and were recently promoted to the Premier League, Dunoon should be in good hands as Shevaughn Latham and Atroy Solomon, who shared eight wickets in the second innings of the final against Jonathan Grant, and Hanif Palmer who took seven wickets in the semi-final against Jose Marti, should once again lead the team's bowling.
Latham and Shavaughn Edwards should provide the necessary support with the bat against Oliver Walker, JC's top bowler for the past three seasons.
Mardio Grandston and Mac Robinson are two key players in JC's line-up, thus this should be a good contest.
In Spanish Town, left-arm wrist spinner Errol Williams, offspinner Marlon Henry and Damion Wright should lead Jonathan Grant's change against Norman Manley, one of the most consistent teams this season.
Rohan Williams, Ryan Francis, Fabian Williams, Winston Walker and Winston Russell have been Norman Manley's top players this season.
