My daahlings, if y'all have not yet seen it or picked up your copy, then you need to rush out and get your hands on your own copy, as dears, and I kid you not - this one here is a collector's item, and then some! And honeys, how!
Dovecakes, we are talking red-hot here, as in faultlessly fab, showcasing as it does, one absolutely fine collection of Afrocentric male models, buffed to perfection and dripping hotness like an overflowing cauldron of buffness cooking on thermonuclear heat!
Luvs, definitely not the stuff for the prim and proper, but for my word, ah do declare that even them will take a peek, as this is one fine assemblage of the hottest hunks to have emerged from within the ranks of African Americans and Jamaicans.
So, what is this hot publication being talked about here? Pumpkins, the ever so hot Ebony Soul Calendar. It has been made popular over the years in its unique approach to profiling its models, as this calendar stays away from the predictable January to December profile of models. Instead, it pushes the envelope beyond the traditionally accepted spheres for calendars. This one is an 18-month calendar running from January of each year into June of the next, showcasing not just 12 but 18 models hot to trot!
Oh Madre Dios!
Caliente, my dears, mucho caliente!
Ebony calendar
Now, despite being essentially an American publication, as is customary, Ebony Soul features men of colour from the diaspora, filmed on location around the globe, but this year, pride of place - meaning the cover - featured that hot Jamaican model Mark McDonald, his six-pack a-rippling at you from the blue of the Caribbean Sea, filmed on location on the beaches of Runaway Bay.
And if snatching the coveted cover was not enough, Mr. January is also another Jamaican in the personage of hot north coast model, Nigel Graham, from Rio Bueno, Trelawny. He was filmed on location, and sizzlingly so, in one of those fab Roman tubs at everyone's favourite resort in Runaway Bay!
Now question: When will they unveil that pill that will transform overindulged bodies into works of art as depicted by models on the pages of Ebony Soul and other such publications? To not do so would be criminal!
And speaking of everyone's favourite resort, sweet things, Hedonism III in Runaway Bay was where the fab couple of George Harrison and his wife, Shirley McCarthy Harrison, chose to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary over the weekend, and pumpkins, how!
Hedo III: the place to go
Little wonderhere really, as the fab people go where the fab people go, and in Jamaica, Hedonism Resorts it is, and so it was that this was where the lovely couple chose to celebrate the sixth anniversary of their union with a critical shortlist of friends, and nothing but!
Definitely the way to go!
Now, Monday being the 26th, it was still all about Mrs. Shirley McCarthy Harrison, as fresh from celebrating her sixth wedding anniversary, the lovely Mrs. was now in the throes of her birthday celebration, and this time at her home in the Old Capital of Spanish Town. Pumpkins, we are talking one fine and intimate do here, so enough said!
And speaking of the fab celebrating birthdays, belated birthday greetings to the fab Nancy McLean of the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, who celebrated her special day at the beginning of the week, at a special do hosted by friends and colleagues, with the buzz here being that it was all that and then some - and really, no surprises here as nothing else would suffice for the multi-talented first lady of haute costume design and haute cuisine, as indeed, elegant she is, and nothing but the tres elegant would do!
Now, on Tuesday, the toasts were all about Tourism Minister Aloun N'dombet Assamba, who celebrated her birthday that day. No word on the festivities, but the formidable minister will be missed, as she gears up to depart representational politics.
On Wednesday, however, it was all about A-crowder and belissima grande socialite, Jeanne Watson, as the habitus of upper St. Andrew, as well as those to the manner born, pretty much declared Wednesday, February 28 a 'national holiday' in her honour!
And why not, my dears, in an era where haute style is decidedly in very short supply, the fab is celebrated with the gusto for which they are renowned, and pumpkins, Jeanne Watson is not only the leading arbiter of fine style - she is the reigning style queen!
And so, happy belated birthday wishes all around and champagne toasts y'all - Crystal, off course!
And speaking of haute style and the fabulous - my dears, the preferred address this here weekend is decidedly Chukka Cove in St. Ann, that fabulous equestrian centre made famous by entrepreneur Danny Melville, as come tomorrow, this prestigious beachfront estate will be the location for the wedding of the season - as the last of Melville's four sons, Daniel Melville Jr. and his long-time belle, the lovely Anna Brown - she being the darling daughter of Jeremy and Valerie Brown - will tie the marital knot, in what insiders say will be a gala of a wedding, and then some!
Who's who of the Caribbean
Luvs, the buzz here is that fab and snob society will be out in full force and battle regalia as, reportedly, some 400 guests will be in attendance, and not just to make up numbers either, as this one will definitely be a who's who of the Caribbean and nothing but, so y'all know we are talking a social humdinger here!
Well, my daahlings, it's like that, with the father of the groom jetting in from the Yukon, where he was winding down shooting on his latest exploit - a collaborative effort with the legendary Chris Blackwell, a movie (working title: Sun Dog). But more anon as this weekend it's all about Saturday's nuptials, and with tonight all set to see the family dinner getting under way at the prestigious Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios.
And if you haven't heard before, y'all can't say you heard it here, but the fabulous Nadine Willis, is sporting one fine new and dazzling stone on that especial finger, and for some months now, with the word being the fab bella Donna of print and runway sensation is all set to tie the knot, and to a member of the diplomatic corps no less.
More anon as you can bet your foie gras, this here scribe will keep y'all posted, so there!
