WESTERN BUREAU:

An exotic 'The Inside' cream of pumpkin soup; A salad 'Beyond the Headlines' and a 'Sports Grill' entr?e of sired fillet snapper served with 'Prime Time News' breast of chicken, were all part of the exciting menu on the RJR Communications Cross Country Invasion.

Served fine dishes

Last Saturday night, the media group served up more than a menu of fine dishes, fitting the many clients who supported them continuously over the years at an 'Appreciation Dinner and Awards' at the Rose Hall Resort and Country Club in Montego Bay.

Pleased with the tremendous support his 'batsmen' had received islandwide, Lester Spaulding, RJR Communications Group managing director, spoke of the immense outpouring of love and the appreciation from the many villages and towns that the cross country team had stopped.

The cross country promotion began in Kingston in January. The first stop out of the Capital City was eastern Jamaica, with a series of activities in districts, villages and towns, allowing the communities the opportunity to meet, greet and interact with the personalities they see or hear on radio.

As is customary, the Second City was the venue selected for the closing event and Saturday night saw several businesses in western Jamaica receiving awards for their support to the media group.

Taking their guests through jazz, classical, rhythm and blues, smooth reggae and contemporary music, RJR Communications Group used the expertise of the talented Audley Scott to further whet the appetites already massaged by 'Hotline' rice pilaf, 'ER' vegetable dujour and 'Trivial Pursuit' Strawberry cheese cake.

Some of the members of the business community whoturned out included Fred Smith, Mary Chambers, Joe Hylton, Michelle Tulloch, Suzette Brown, Roxanne Smith, Derrick Bent, Boris Reid, Shallman Scott, Ricky Christian, Fagan Calvert, Joan Dove, David Lindo, Robert Russell and Mayor of Falmouth, Councillor Jonathan Bartley.

Headed by J. A. Lester Spaulding, the rest of the RJR team who shared in the occasion were Gary Allen, Don Topping, Stephen Greig, Stephen Legister, Marline Stephenson Dalley, Judith Bodley, Andrea C. Whyte, Clare Clarke, Allan Wright, Michael Sharpe, Karl Lewin and Gary Cole.
