EDITORIAL - Keeping cool for CWC opening
We have had, and continue to have, cause for frustration and quarrel over how we have gone about much of the preparation in Jamaica for Cricket World Cup, of which we are one of the Caribbean hosts.

Seven Jamaican 'wonders'

There is a current international poll search for a new 'Seven Wonders of the World', to replace the original seven - with the exception of the Pyramids of Egypt which is the only original 'Wonder' which still exists. (Neita)

A cricket prayer

The Editor, Sir: I miss already the news and labrish that is sure to test the faith of many believers during this time of cricket. The juggernaut of international competition has landed on the shores of the Caribbean, and will be in for all kinds of pleasant surprises, arriving in the heart of places only heard about or seen on TV.

Education should get priority

The Editor, Sir: I write in reference to the misguided and myopic development of Jamaica via government initiatives. A prime example which shows the lack of planning and use of sound decision-making models by the Government is the position regarding the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Issue: American 'rights' trigger outrage

The story headlined 'Another U.S. report fails Jamaica' in Wednesday's Gleaner evokes a reaction between amusement and outrage. The U.S. Government has adopted official policies that allow persons to be taken and held without their relatives or friends being notified.
