Ticketing hiccups in T&T
published: Saturday | March 10, 2007

PORT-OF-SPAIN (CMC):

Mark Santana, ticketing supervisor of Trinidad and Tobago's Local Organising Committee (LOC) for ICC CWC 2007, on Thursday sought to clarify the delay in ticket delivery for local fans.

He told CMC Sport that the problem emanated from Internet purchases of tickets and much of this procedure was managed by ICC CWC 2007 in Jamaica.

"The local ticketing offices in Trinidad and Tobago dealt specifically with person-to-person sale encounters. What we found with this issue is that over 300 tickets for Trinidad and Tobago fans were rerouted throughout the region," Santana said.

"We had to track these tickets and then arrange delivery from other countries in the region, hence the delay," Santana stated.

Compensation

The LOC also indicated that affected fans will be compensated for this inconvenience by being provided with tickets fo matches available or assisting fans attending matches in the region to access their tickets through the LOC of that country.

The LOC also announced that all ticket centres in Trinidad and Tobago and the rest of the region will now be opened Monday-Saturday, including match days, as instructed by ICC CWC 2007.
