There will be an increase in the price of United Kingdom (U.K.) visa fees as of April 1.
In a press release issued by the British High Commission in Jamaica, it was disclosed that the new fee regime will be effective for all visa applications.
The fee for applications for Commonwealth countries, U.K. overseas territories, direct airside transit, visitors in transit, and ship or aircraft will increase from $4,200 to $6,000.
Fees for single, double and multiple visits, which are valid up to six months, increase from $7,000 to $8,800. Fees for multiple visits valid for up to 10 years see an increase from $11,900 to $28,000.
The fee for a visa for any length for other purposes, including employment, increases from $11,900 to $28,000. The fee for a certificate of entitlement increases from $11,900 to $28,000. The fee for a student visa increases from $11,900 to $13,900. Fees for settlement see an increase from $36,400 to $70,000.
The consular rate of exchange is J$140 to one pound sterling.
