Clarke doing both jobs well
published: Friday | March 23, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

In the article written by Ken Jones in The Sunday Gleaner, headlined 'MPs being paid for nothing', he cited Member of Parliament for North-East St. Elizabeth Roger Clarke who is also the caretaker for Central Westmoreland as making representation for the latter and depriving his own constituency.

That is not so, as Mr. Clarke is handling both situations well. Roads, which were not fixed for the past years, are being fixed, namely, Red Ground, Cabbage Valley, Ginger Piece and Oxford.

In Elim, a nursery is being set up for youngsters. The Balaclava Community Centre is being fenced and a netball court being built. There are several other things being done, but space would not permit. Please, Mr. Jones, research properly and you would find that he can do both well. Maybe other politicians should do their jobs with the zeal with which Mr. Clarke does his.

I am, etc.,

SANDRA DOBSON
