Tomorrow's well supported 10-race programme at Caymanas Park offers a Pick-9 carryover of $1.68 million, which could result in a payout of close to $3 million.
The Super-6, on the other hand, was caught by 35 punters, each receiving $73,718.50. Tomorrow's Pick-9 embraces races two to 10; the Super-6 from five to 10.
We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a $160,000 claiming race to be contested by eight starters over 1100 metres. Horses such as EXCLUSIVELY, KEELER, ABOUNDING GRACE, OLYMPIC STAR and DUST ROCK are the group from which the winner should emerge and it will be interesting to see which one is installed the favourite.
EXCLUSIVELY proved competitive over this trip behind the out of class HAFIFA when finishing 8 3/4 lengths third on March 3. The form of that race has been working out in that RUCKUS, who finished just ahead of EXCLUSIVELY in second, came back to beat a good field over the straight in the higher grade last Saturday and this speaks volumes for the chances of EXCLUSIVELY.
OLYMPIC STAR left us on a winning note over this trip last October and can definitely take up where she left off, while KEELER, also a winner last time out, can be involved in the final shakeup with leading rider Javour Simpson again in the saddle. Still, the down-in-class ABOUNDING GRACE with title-chasing jockey Paul 'Country' Francis aboard could just be a tot better than rivals and will prove hard to beat, despite top weight of 57.0kg.
Made to order
Race number six, Division II of the CTL Exercise Riders' race over 800 metres straight, looks made to order for the well drawn YAHABIBI, despite the presence of HE AIN'T HEAVY who has won two of these races in recent years, not to mention GOINGTOKANSASCITY, ANOTHER RANKING and the well prepared FRENCH MINISTER.
Trained by Gary Subratie, YAHABIBI has beaten better in the not-too-distant past and based on her close third to RED I over 1100 metres on December 16, should lead home HE AIN'T HEAVY over what is an ideal trip for her.
AMERICAN DON, who ran well from a bad draw behind HIGH GOLD over the straight recently, should rebound in the seventh race for the Jamaica Jockeys' Guild Trophy to be contested by seven starters. SHINING SUN, who was just ahead of AMERICAN DON that day, should also enter the reckoning along with BAILAME and PETITE DIVA.
The eighth race formaiden three-year-olds should resolve itself into a straight fight between DANCE AWAY and the Desmond Shand-trained SCHIZANDRA (working well) who is coming to run on this her second outing. Preference is for Wayne DaCosta's DANCE AWAY, a lightly raced filly who finished fifth to GLITTER CLEARANCE in the Thornbird Stakes over 1400 metres last Saturday.
Then take the DaCosta-trained BULLET TRAIN (working really well) to lead home DOUBLE BOW and COMMANDING LIGHT in the ninth race for the George HoSang Trophy, and the lightly raced WE WILL SEE in the Al Gopie Memorial Cup, the closing race on the card.
