Parking per person?
published: Thursday | March 29, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am responding to the commentary by journalist Dennie Quill, titled, 'Windies: On the verge of history.'As a proud Jamaican by birth, and one who speaks well of Jamaica at every possible chance, I am very proud of how Jamaica has presented herself to the world as host for Cricket World Cup. It was nice to learn how well things are going through Mr. Quill's piece, however, I have one point to make.

Mr. Quill suggests that there was something inequitable about the cost of parking at National Heroes Park with similar vehicles paying the same $1,000 cost regardless of the number of people in each vehicle. I must say that I've never seen or heard of a car park or garage that charges fees based on the number of persons in each vehicle.

After all, five people in one vehicle still only means one parking spot for the vehicle and renders it equal to the vehicle with one person in the car.

I am, etc.,
