Man charged with King's death remanded
published: Thursday | March 29, 2007

KING

Sheldon Pusey, the 23-year-old man who is charged with the March 2006 murder of Ambassador Peter King, was remanded on Tuesday when he appeared in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court.

Pusey, who is represented by attorney-at-law Beriston Bryan, has been in custody since February 24 when he was arrested by police in Oracabessa, St. Mary.

Pusey was formally charged by police on March 16.

On Tuesday, he pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear before the courts tomorrow.

The 64-year-old King was a respected member of Jamaica's trade sector for over 40 years.

His nude, mutilated body was discovered in the bedroom of his apartment, at Waterloo Avenue in St. Andrew, by a member of his consultancy firm.

Mr. King had hosted a party at his home the previous evening.
