Japan assisting growth of young people
published: Friday | March 30, 2007

ST GEORGE'S, Grenada (CMC):

The Grenada government says it has secured a Poverty Reduction and Human Resource Development grant from Japan to finance the preparation of the country's skills enhancement project.

The Keith Mitchell administration said that the project is aimed at facilitating the training of youth and unemployed persons in marketable technical and vocational skills.

The grant is valued at US$150,000 and the government said the project falls within a wider World Bank funded Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Skills for Inclusive Growth Project, which has as its objective, to assist in improving the employability of young people through a number of disciplines.
