Ceremonial Couture
published: Friday | March 30, 2007

Parliamentarians stepped out in style yestarday for the annual ceremonial opening and throne speech. As usual, our cameras caught the hits and misses. Hits include a sober-looking Tourism minister and the world's best-dressed female Prime Minister. Madam Education Minister, you do look great when your necklines take a plunge! And our Governor-General's wife looked svelte and sweet.

But someone needs to retire that lady senator's green hat that certainly had nothing to do with the lovely cream suit. And what was that minister's wife doing with a huge gold bag that was not in sync with the rest of her ensemble? The fashion police will be paying a visit to some of you very soon.

This is a refreshing look for Tourism Minister Aloun Assamba. She must be happy at the prospect of leaving the hustings behind soon.
