Ms Jamaica Global beauties parade out West
published: Friday | March 30, 2007

Miss Jamaica Global International Beauty Pageant was launched on Saturday March 24, at Travellers Beach Resort.

Twenty three contestants aged 17 - 26 who are vying for the coveted title of Miss Jamaica Global International. They participated in an introductory session and photo shoot, poolside at Travellers Beach Resort. This was only the beginning of the exciting, fun-filled weekend that the organisers planned for them.

Special guests included: Grace Lee from the Negril Chamber of Commerce and Amoy Molton, reigning queen.

Mr. Lachu Ramchandani, franchise holder of the pageant informed the press that this year a partnership had been formed with Travellers Beach Resort and that both the eliminations and the finals would be held at there on May 5 and 12 respectively.

Last year, the show was held in Negril at the Negril Hills Golf Club and a fashion show was held at Negril Escape. "Due to the success of the show and popular demand from the western area, the show will once again be held in Negril," said Mr. Ramchandani.

Contestants dined at Beaches Negril and received complimentary passes to Cool Runnings Water Park and a night of dancing at Travellers Beach Resort VIP Lounge.

Closing date for entries is April 30 and tickets for both the eliminations and the finals will be available at Travellers Beach Resort from April 1 or by call 957-3039, 460-7823 or 953-9020, 309-5201.

Part proceeds from the event will benefit the Negril Education Environment Trust (NEET), a non-profit organisation that provides educational material to needy schools.
