Frightening!
published: Monday | April 2, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

The present level of indiscipline in the society is frightening. There is no respect for life, property, self or anything anymore. Sometimes I wonder, when did we get so low as a society? It seems to me as if the first words out of people's mouths these days are expletives and, even in public and on public transport, people say the nastiest and most derogatory things with no respect for others.

Negative songs

The music people are listening to speaks to violence, killings, drug running, sex and there are hardly positive songs anymore. These are the things schoolchildren are listening to and, therefore, they are acting out these songs and movies at school and on the street.

Jamaica needs to be redeemed from the gross immorality and indiscipline that it has fallen into.

I am, etc.,
