Overseas experts begin Woolmer probe
published: Wednesday | April 4, 2007

The four Scotland Yard detectives and the International Police (Interpol) forensic expert have commenced their investigations into the murder of former Pakistan cricket coach, Bob Woolmer.

Karl Angell, director of communications for the Jamaica Constabulary Force yesterday told The Gleaner that the overseas experts have started their operation and are working in conjunction with the local police.

Briefed by Jamaican police

The four detectives, who arrived in the island on Monday night, were yesterday briefed by the Jamaican police "and they basically started examinations of the case files", said Mr. Angell.

At the same time, Dr. Susan Hitchin, DNA scientific administrator of Interpol, is also on the island to examine reports of the murder of the 58-year-old coach.

Since yesterday, Dr. Hitchin has been meeting with various people, said Mr. Angell.
