Police yesterday used tear gas and water cannons to disperse hundreds of protesting students in the capital of Santiago, the second such occurrence in a week.
Police did not immediately report any detentions, but reporters saw officers take away several demonstrators and put them on police buses.
A young girl fleeing police twisted her ankle, fainted and was taken away by other students. One officer was also injured, police said.
