'Easter' is in the air and if I should ask: "Why does one celebrate Easter?" There would be a unanimous response of it having to do with Christ's death and His resurrection. OK, what about Easter, says Christ? What do bunnies and coloured eggs have to do with Jesus' resurrection? Where exactly did Easter and its customs originate? We talk about 'good foundation', what good foundation was it founded upon?
Answers to the questions
Until we can answer these questions, we'll remain a group of blind bandwagonists! It is not acceptable to 'assume' that because a practice has 'Christ' attached to it, it is about Him, regardless of the "good intentions".
Several historical records will show that "at Easter, popular customs reflect many ancient pagan survivals" (The Encyclopaedia Britannica). Talk about history and information age. We are just naive, seriously lackadaisical and willing to accept nonsense! Call me what you will but Easter, as is presented, has absolutely nothing to do with Christ and by extension, Christianity. The sooner we realise this, the better.
